President Gordon B. Hinckley - Prophet

"President Gordon B. Hinckley, who led The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through twelve years of global expansion, has died at the age of 97. President Hinckley was the 15th president in the 177-year history of the Church and had served as its president since 12 March 1995. The Church president died at his apartment in downtown Salt Lake City at 7:00 p.m. Sunday night from causes incident to age. Members of his family were at his bedside. A successor is not expected to be formally chosen by the Church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles until after President Hinckley’s funeral within the next few days."

My family had the opportunity to pay respects tonight Monday Jan 28. 2008 as we visited the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center on the BYU Campus in Provo, UT. Upon arrival we encountered many others who had shown their love and admiration for one of the greatest prophets this world has ever known. What a privilege it has been to live at a time while this man was prophet. Our family will miss him, we will miss his humor, his faith, and his legacy. We know that the church will continue onward and upward as we await the calling of the new prophet.

Havasupai, AZ (favorite place to hike)

Brandon & Kristin at the hilltop before the descent to the Supai Village.

This picture was half way down to the village.

First sight of Havasu Falls from the trail.

B & K sitting relaxing at our favorite spot which is Navajo Falls. This place is amazing.

BYU vs UCLA @ Rose Bowl

Go COUGS! Kristin and I went to Pasadena to watch our BYU Cougars play UCLA in the Rose Bowl. That was a fun trip as we got to visit family and enjoy sunny California. BYU lost that game but went on to win the Mountain West Conference and ultimately beat UCLA in the Pioneer Vegas Bowl.

Wasatch Back Relay

This is a very fun tradition that part of my family has started. This race is patterned after the Hood to Coast relay in Oregon. Utah now has it's own version, as well as Arizona. I am running that one called Del Sol with my brother in March. This day the temps were around 100 degrees and very brutal. On this leg alone I went through 3 water bottles in 5 miles. CRAZY!

Skiing at Sundance

This photo was takend just after the new year 2008 at Sundance Ski Resort. It was Devin's 4th time skiing but Brynlee's 1st time so we put them both in a private class while we enjoyed the fresh powder as a couple. It is so great to live only 15 minutes from a quality ski resort. Very fun times this winter.

Fish Family Happenings

This is my first attempt at ever creating a blog. I know I have a lot to learn but this is a start. Our plan as a family is to add fun photos, narrative, and events that happen along the way, thus, "Fish Family Happenings".

We hope you enjoy and please feel free to post and offer comments and suggestions of ideas that we can use to improve our site and its contents.
